The Sevier County Choral Society will present its Christmas concerts on Dec. 3 and 5 and will feature carols from around the world, some popular Christmas pieces by J. S. Bach, and F. Handel, John Rutter, Irving Berling, Kirby Shaw.
These are musical favorites that are sure to bring back fond memories.
The concert is free to the public. Donations will be taken to support the Choral Society and its scholarship program for high school students who participate with the group in rehearsals and singing engagements.
There are certain criteria that must be met to qualify for scholarships. Scholarship money is $500 per calendar year of participation. If a student enters the program as a freshman, he or she can earn up to $2,000 in college scholarship money by the time of graduation. The scholarships are available to all students whether or not they plan to major in music in college.
