Sevier County Mayor Larry Waters and members of the Sevier County Commission recently thanked the county fire departments and rescue squad for their service and presented them with their annual supplements at the Sevier County Fire Chiefs Association meeting.
“These brave men and women put their life on the line every time a call comes in to protect the people and property in our county,” said Waters. “This is a way of saying thank you to them.”
Each year, the fire departments, rescue squad and Fire Chiefs Association receive funding that goes towards supplying them with fire and rescue protection materials and supplies. This year, the total amount was $971,000.
