Two Sevier County brothers have been arrested in connection with two local rental cabin burglaries.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said that the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division received information about the pair committing burglaries in the Wears Valley/Walden’s Creek area.
Investigators were able to track the pair to a house in Pigeon Forge after receiving information that the brothers had just broken into a cabin.
The suspects fled on foot after officials approached them. One brother was caught after a short foot chase and the other was found hidden inside the residence.
A stolen flat screen TV was recovered from a burglary that has just occurred and items from a burglary that was reported on Nov. 7 on Ridgecrest Drive were also found.
That burglary was reported after a former police officer, Gary Dove from Martinsville VA, found the cabin he had rented had been burglarized.
Several of Dove’s stolen items were recovered from the brothers.
Investigators have charged Jeremy P. Weaver, 30, and Justin N. Weaver, 26, both of Sevierville, with two counts of Aggravated Burglary, Theft over $1,000 and resisting arrest.
They were arraigned before a Magistrate and both were held to appear before a Sessions Court Judge. A Dec. 13 arraignment date has been set for the Weavers.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to Detective John Brown or Stephanie Hodges at the Sevier Co. Sheriff’s Office CID at (865) 428-1899
