Everyone was in the Halloween spirit at the Seymour Branch Library on Monday during the weekly Preschool Story Time.
Children dressed up in their Halloween costumes a little bit early to celebrate with reading, a costume party and treats.
Some very interesting characters made appearances during costume party including a witch, a ninja, a Tennessee Titan football player, a bumble bee, a firefighter, Iron Man and Little Red Riding Hood.
Library Assistant Spence Perry read the children Halloween themed books including the title, “Monsters Eat Whiny Children,” by Bruce Eric Kaplan.
The book is a recent addition to the library and was donated by the Rotary Club.
Upon Perry asking if there were any whiny children in the group, all of the children insisted they had never whined.
The Sevier County Public Library System Preschool Story Time program is designed with a read-to-read format that includes an introduction to the alphabet, numbers one through ten, great books, games, and other activities.
Each month has a new theme from September through June including topics like the weather, holidays, science, math and art.
The Seymour Branch story time is held at 11 a.m. Mondays. The library is located at 137 W. Macon Lane.
