Area veterans are invited to a special series of workshops planned in their honor Nov. 10, a day before the national Veteran’s Day holiday, at Walters State Community College’s Center for Workforce Education. The program runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
“This is designed as both a day to celebrate and honor veterans while providing them with information on the services available,” said Connie O’Vercum, director of the Center for Workforce Education.
Three presentations are planned and refreshments will be served. Steven Hillis from the James H. Quillen Veterans Administration Medical Center will speak about health issues concerning veterans. Jim Wilder, veterans’ representative at Walters State Community College, will discuss educational opportunities and Charlie Rose, Hamblen County veterans service officer will talk about community services available to veterans.
The event is free, but reservations are requested. Call the Center for Workforce Education at (423) 318-2341 to reserve a spot.
The Center is located in room 110 of the Clifford  H. “Bo” Henry Center for Business and Technology on the Morristown campus.
