BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Lady Vol sophomore swimmer Kelsey Floyd has been selected as the SEC Swimmer of the Week following her impressive performance against Arkansas last Saturday at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
Floyd was a huge factor in the Orange and White's 171-129 win over the Razorbacks. The Lexington, Ky., native won two individual events and swam legs on the two victorious relays, which accounted for a meet high 40 points.
Swimming NCAA B-cut times, Floyd had first-place finishes in the 100y (54.53) 200y (1:59.27) fly events and also tallied wins in both the 200y medley (1:43.22) and 200y free (1:34.37) relays.
Prior to this award, Floyd had built an impressive resume in only one year at Rocky Top. Last season she earned All-America honors in four relay events, was tabbed as the SEC Freshman of the week four times, earned First Team All-SEC honors and was named to the SEC All-Freshmen Team.
