Cruisin’ Seymour continues to retain its popularity among residents even at the weather grows colder.
Since its start in April, residents from Seymour, Knox County, and Sevier County have been driving their hot rods to the Wendy’s and Seymour Pharmacy parking lot for the weekly car cruise.
One of the “cruising machines” to make it to last week’s cruise was a 1987 Buick Grand National owned by Kathy Huinker.
She has been a proud owner of the unmodified ride with only 140,000 since 1989.
Huinker’s husband, David, owns a 1986 original Grand Sport with 175,000, but it was Kathy’s ride he was showing off on Friday.
Everyone is welcome to come to the cruise and bring any type of vehicle they own.
Organizers say just about any type of vehicle can be seen there.
The event is held every Friday at 5 p.m. in the Macon Crossing Shopping Center parking lot near the Wendy’s and Seymour Pharmacy.
The cruise is free and averages about 80 cars an event. In addition to the ride, a DJ spins oldies music and many local restaurants offer discounts.
