A man has perished in a fire at his home in Sevier County.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said that 911 received a call at 10:59 p.m. Tuesday night of a structure fire at 869 Timberlake Circle in Sevierville.
The Sevier County Fire Department arrived on the scene and found a mobile home fully engulfed in flames.
After extinguishing the fire, human remains were found inside the burned structure.
Sevier County Sheriff’s Detectives and Fire investigators were called to the scene and an investigation was initiated.
The victim was removed from the fire and transported to UT Forensic Center for an autopsy.
The State Bomb and Arson Division were called in to assist in the determination of the cause and origin of the fire.
The identity of the victim has not been positively made at this time.
The owner of the home is Billy M. Griffin, 50, and he has not been accounted for at this time.
The investigation is ongoing by the Sheriff’s Office and Tenn. Bob and Arson Division.
