Seymour residents experienced dramatic increase in burglaries, especially in the afternoon hours, and a significant amount of thefts over the period of Sept. 22 to 27.
There were five residential burglaries, one garage/outbuilding burglary, two burglaries from auto, and six thefts reported over the course of the six days in Seymour.
The first residential burglary was reported at 4:11 p.m. in the 900 block of Stott. Two more burglaries were then reported on Sept. 23, one at 2:14 p.m. in the 830 block of Reagan Springs Road and the other at 4:52 p.m. in the 1300 block of Springview Circle.
Two additional residential burglaries were then reported four days later on Sept. 27, the first at 1:03 p.m. in the 1300 block of Summit Drive and the second at 4:57 p.m. in the 1300 block of Smoky Mountain View Drive.
The burglary that occurred in the garage/outbuilding was reported at 3:46 p.m. Sept. 26 in the 1600 block of Parton Circle.
Both burglaries from auto occurred on Sept. 24. The first was reported at 2:12 a.m. in the 100 block of Sunflower Loop and the second was reported at 10:11 a.m. in the 1300 block of Tentham Circle.
Two thefts were reported on Sept. 23, one at 2:36 p.m. on South Old Sevierville Pike and the other at 3:17 p.m. in the 300 block of Homestead Way. One theft was reported on Sept. 24 at 9:52 a.m. in the 200 block of Golden Rod Drive.
Three additional thefts were all reported on Sept. 23. At 12:41 p.m. on was reported in the 600 block of Horse Shoe Lane, the next was reported at 5:37 p.m. in the 100 block of Colonial Circle, and the first was reported at 7:18 p.m. in the 700 block of Boyd’s Creek Hwy.
In addition to the theft and burglary reports, two vandalism/property damage reports were made on Sept. 16. The first at 4:19 p.m. in the 1100 block of Old Sevierville Pike and the second at 9:18 p.m. in the 11200 block of Chapman Hwy.
