The Foundation for the Blount County Public Library will hold a Hoe Down in the Low Down (that is, the lower level of the Library) at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at the library.
A barbecue dinner will be served and entertainment will be provided by Pistol Creek Catch of the Day (Edward Harper, Bill Cabage, Scott Hinds and Carl Gombert who perform Rockabilly/Americana) and the Sisters of the Silver Sage (Donna, Rhonda and Janet, award-winning Western music performers).
Celebrating the Past, Present and the Future of the Blount County Public Library, the event is a fundraiser for capital projects of the library.  The cost per person is $50 and dress is casual.
As an added opportunity, attendees will be admitted to a private sale of books offered in the Used Book Sale sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
For ticket information, call Kathy Pagles or Karen Dawson at (865) 982-0981 at the Blount County Public Library, 508 North Cusick Street, Maryville.
