On October 7, Mountain Madness Film Festival will kick-off its festivities.  Mountain Madness Film Festival will provide the community with a cultural institution that inspires, educates and entertains through screenings and events.  MMFF will present the best in independent features, shorts, documentaries and trailers from veteran masters, up-and-coming directors, and first-time filmmakers from around the globe.
Mountain Madness Film Festival is a perfect example of FILManthropy.  The movie ticket price will be "pay what you can."  ALL proceeds will be spread amongst FOUR charities – Toys for Tots, Heavenly Hats and the Second Harvest Food Banks of New Orleans & East Tennessee.  "I can’t begin to express my sincere appreciation for all that you are doing for our foundation, it really does mean more than I can say." DeeAnn T. Leanna, Executive Director, Heavenly Hats Foundation, Inc.  "Thank you so much for including us in your efforts." Leslie D. Doles, Director, Second Harvest.  TWO Scholarships and TWO Grants will also be given.
Nestled at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in eastern Tennessee, Gatlinburg is located just one hour and forty-five minutes west of Asheville, North Carolina and four hours north of Atlanta, Georgia.
The Festival will be screening films on Oct. 8 and Oct. 9 at the W.L. Mills Conference Center, located at 234 Historic Nature Trail.  Mountain Madness Film Festival will also be hosting Opening & Closing ceremonies in Gatlinburg on Oct. 7 and 10.
The Festival Director for Mountain Madness Film Festival is Duane Langley, a.k.a. The Mad Hatter.  A filmmaker and internet marketer, Duane moved to Gatlinburg this March after spending the last fifteen years in New York City.  Being a FILManthropist is a full-time job and The Mad Hatter welcomes each new day.  "Since announcing Mountain Madness Film Festival in July, I have received both sides of southern hospitality – the sweet tea AND the bitter lemonade." says Langley, "I like to drink Arnold Palmers, so, now I feel right at home."
