The new Waffle House restaurant in Seymour has been bustling with activity since its grand opening earlier this month.
Lines of people can be seen ordering at the counter and the parking lot always seems to be full.
Waffle House opened on Aug. 5 after only a few months after construction on the building began.
Dave, the restaurant’s manager in training, said the restaurant is doing really well.
“We were completely slammed and really busy when we first opened,” he said. “We’ve slowed down a little bit, but not by much.”
After first opening its doors all three shifts at the restaurant, breakfast, lunch and dinner, were extremely busy.
“We were going nonstop,” Dave said.
Now after a few weeks the breakfast shift and between 6 and 10 p.m. remain the busiest times of the day for the restaurant staff.
“First shift does the most sales, but breakfast and dinner are about neck and neck,” he said.
Waffle House is located on 10638 Chapman Hwy. and the restaurant can be reached at (865) 577-6331.
