Feel passionate about a local nonprofit? Want to recognize a volunteer who goes the extra mile?
Submit a nomination for the East Tennessee PBS Be More Awards, an annual awards program designed to celebrate the heroes of East Tennessee’s nonprofit community.
The deadline to nominate an individual or nonprofit organization is Sept. 30.
Four local award winners will be announced on-air and at an awards ceremony on Feb. 24, 2011.
“We’re inviting everyone to participate in this program by nominating a nonprofit organization or individual that inspires them,” said Teresa James, General Manager of East Tennessee PBS. “We believe in using our airwaves and resources for the betterment of our great community.
“The Be More Awards embodies this public service mission and our philanthropic philosophy.”
The 2011 East Tennessee PBS Be More Awards will recognize three local nonprofit organizations and one individual whose work inspires our community to Be More. The award categories are: Service to Kids, the Arts, Local Service and Person of the Year.
Anyone may nominate a nonprofit or individual for an award including coworkers, employees, volunteers, supporters and even the nonprofit itself. A panel of community and business leaders will judge the nominations and select the winners. Three finalists in each award category will be announced in December.
More information about the program including the nomination form is available on the East Tennessee PBS website: www.EastTennesseePBS.org.
