Well guys the long agonizing wait is over.  It’s finally here.
The angle of the sun has changed.  Have you noticed?  It sets lower on the horizon with a special glow.
The leaves on the trees are beginning to turn and some are even falling off.
The air has a crisp feeling early in the mornings and evenings.
The local high school band can be heard nearby practicing.
On Friday nights, you can hear the PA announcer calling the local high school football game.
Fantasy football drafts are going on all over the country.
College football preseason specials are on ESPN and NFL preseason games have started.
It’s Football time in Tennessee!
The long drought is over.
Life begins again.
Friday night lights come on.  The Seymour Eagles take the field at Householder Stadium.  The grass is perfect.  Freshly cut and green as Augusta National.  The smell of freshly cut grass and concessions; popcorn and hot dogs fill the air.
The band is playing and Charlie Householder welcomes everyone to the stadium as the teams warm up.
It’s Football time in Seymour!
Saturday mornings cars drive around everywhere with orange flags with a white power T on them.
Rocky Top can be heard on radios along with pregame sports talk shows.
ESPN game day is on TV broadcasting from the landing at Thompson-Boling Arena with Neyland Stadium in the background.
Tennessee Volunteers are about to play their opening game against a big time national opponent. The game is televised nationally followed by one game after another until midnight.  Does it get any better?
It’s Football time in Tennessee!
Sunday comes and NFL pre-game shows are on.  Then the games begin. One game after another is on TV until bedtime.  Now you can pick your favorite team and follow their game on the internet even if it isn’t on TV,
It’s heaven for the rest of the year.
It’s Football time everywhere!
Husbands give their wives money to go to the mall so they can watch game after game in peace.
To a guy, football is a serious thing; very serious whether it is, high school, college or pro, football is a serious thing.
The beginning of football season is special to fans everywhere, especially in the southeast. It’s a new beginning and hope for everyone’s team.  Every team’s record starts with no losses.
To the avid football fan, the first game is like Christmas morning. Hope springs eternal. All the waiting and anticipation is finally over.  It’s here; it’s finally here.  It’s Football time in Tennessee!
