The Sevier County School System’s Second Annual Smoky Mountain Kick-Off Jamboree will be held at Sevier County High School on Aug. 13, with the official kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
     Participating teams will include the Seymour High School Eagles, the Sevier County High School Smoky Bears, the Pigeon Forge High School Tigers, and the Gatlinburg-Pittman High School Highlanders.
     The schedule is as follows: Kick-off is at 7 p.m., Seymour and SCHS Freshman will face off in 0 Quarter, Seymour and GPHS Junior Varsity will face off in the 1st Quarter, Junior Varsity players from SCHS and PFHS will face off in the 2nd Quarter, there will be a half time competition, Seymour and GPHS Varsity Players will play in the 3rd Quarter, and in the 4tg Quarter SCHS and PFHS Varsity players will play.
     The Jamboree will give area high school football fans an opportunity to watch the county’s football teams in action as they prepare for the 2010 campaign.
     Fans will also be able to purchase an official Jamboree t-shirt to show support to their team.
     Cheerleaders will be present to cheer on their respective teams and to sell souvenir programs featuring all teams.  
     Prior to kick-off, the four high school bands will jointly perform “The Star Spangled Banner.”
     Admission to the Jamboree is $5 per adult or child, with no admission charge for preschoolers. Advanced tickets are available at all four high schools. All proceeds will help to off-set the cost of catastrophic insurance coverage for athletic programs in the Sevier County School System.
