A Knoxville man has been arrested in connection with car burglaries and a vehicle theft in Seymour.
     Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said that on July 11 several cars were burglarized and one vehicle was stolen on Hunters Lane in Seymour.
     After an investigation by Sevier Co. Sheriff’s Detectives the stolen vehicle was located in Knox County and the items taken from the car burglaries were recovered from the suspect’s home.
     Detectives arrested Jacob Lee Varner, 19, of Bays Mountain Road in Knoxville, and he is charged with three counts of burglary of an automobile and one count of vehicle theft.
     Varner was arrested in Jefferson County on the warrants and was arraigned before a Magistrate and a $25,000 bond was set.
     An Aug. 27 preliminary hearing has been set in General Sessions Court.
     The Sevier Co. Sheriff’s Office is working with other agencies and more charges are expected.
