A juvenile has been charged with breaking into a home in Sevier County.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said that on May 29 a home located on Mutton Hollow Rd. was burglarized and several items were taken.
On June 13 the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that a 16-year-old boy had a handgun in his possession that was stolen.
Officers went to the boy’s home on Mutton Hollow Rd. and he fled on foot, but was caught a short time later in the area.
A weapon, along with other items that had been reported stolen in the May 29 burglary, were found in the possession of the boy.
The boy was charged with aggravated burglary and is being detained at the Sevier County Juvenile Detention Facility until a hearing date is set.
