The Farmers’ Market in Seymour will open next month.
It will be open from 7 to 11 a.m. every Saturday from June 5 through October 16 in the parking lot of First Baptist Church on Chapman Hwy.
This year the market will be in the lower parking lot on the south side of the church.
Organizers invite residents to stop by to support local farmers and enjoy some fresh, home grown fruits and vegetables.
In addition, local farmers and gardeners are invited to become part of the Seymour Farmers’ Market.
Agricultural products, which participants produce or grow, such as fruits, vegetables, eggs, honey, plants, cut flowers or herbs are all welcome. Participants are asked to bring their own table, scales and bags.
Small businesses making agricultural products such as jellies, baked goods, hot sauces, etc. should bring a copy of their health inspection papers and license.
The charge to sell at the market is $3 a week or $25 for the season. These fees are used to cover operational expenses.
For more information call Lucy Henighan at (865) 573-3579 or Marjie Richardson at (865) 453-0130.
Special thanks to The Bakery Lady  located on Boyds Creek Hwy.
