
Sevierville Police Department (SPD) officers arrested a Newport woman last Tuesday after she allegedly robbed the pharmacy at Wal Mart, 1414 Parkway, at approximately 9:20 a.m.
SPD Officer Robbie Nelms arrested 26-year old Jenna M. Lewis in the Wal Mart parking lot after she allegedly demanded narcotics at the pharmacy.
Lewis reportedly told the store employee she had a gun, and was given several bottles of medication and she left the store.
SPD Animal Control Officer Dave Clinton was in the area and observed a woman fitting the suspect description get into a vehicle in the parking lot. Officer Nelms and SPD Sgt. T.C. Faulconer approached the vehicle and discovered Lewis.
The allegedly stolen medication was retrieved, along with what was determined to be a toy handgun.
Lewis was charged with aggravated robbery and transported to the Sevier County jail for booking.
