Smoky Mountain Animal Clinic, 10718 Chapman Hwy. (across from Kroger), will hold an Open House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 1.
Admission is free and the first 150 people will receive a goody bag. Free food and drinks will be provided until hot dogs or propane run out. Raffles will also be held multiple times throughout the day.
Planned events include a pet costume contest, a K-9 police dog demonstration, educational tours, product demonstrations, multiple door prize drawings, face painting, and a parade of breeds. Farm animals, including llamas and alpacas will also be onsite.
The veterinarians will be in a dunking booth to raise money for charity. All proceeds from the event, including the dunking booth, raffles, and donations, will be divided between the Sevier County Humane Society and medical bills for an injured local endurance horse.
The Arabian horse, named Galapago Amigo, was impaled by a large tree branch on Jan. 17. He has spent the last three months recovering at the University of Tennessee Veterinary School.
Amigo is expected to be onsite for the Open House.
