MARYVILLE — UT Singers Jazz Choir, under the direction of Wendel Werner, will perform their premier concert at the Blount County Public Library at 2 p.m. March 6.
     Werner, an accomplished composer and arranger, is a jazz pianist who directs the UT Singers and Jazz Choirs.  He has also directed other choirs at other area colleges (Roane State, Knoxville College) and organizations.
     Werner performed at the library in August 2009 during the Hot Summer Nights concert series.  He performs frequently at the Knoxville Museum of Arts “Alive After Five,” and he started the group “Just in Time,” a female jazz choir.  
     Free and open to the public, the program is at the Blount County Public Library, located at 508 N. Cusick Street, Maryville.
