When Debbie Ramsey, a local Seymour resident, stepped off US Air Flight 1549 in the middle of New York’s icy Hudson River on Jan. 15, she stepped into the pages of history.
Whether she wanted it or not, she was in the media spotlight, along with the other passengers and flight crew that brought the giant aircraft down safely on the river after an engine failure. This Friday evening Ramsey will be at the Seymour Baptist Church at 7:00 pm to relate those events to the church’s women ministries, doing a speaking and dinner and book signing for the new book titled Brace for Impact written by Captain Sullenberger.
Brace for Impact is the story of the heroic landing of U.S. Airways Flight 1549 into the Hudson River in New York. Ramsey will have a few on hand at the dinner.
