    Three students were honored with the title “Student of the Month” at Seymour Intermediate School in January.
     Third grader Elizabeth Bogardus, fourth grader Kaylee McBay, and fifth grader Jake Carr were awarded last month’s titles.
     Each month teachers at Seymour Intermediate nominate one person from their classes. Those names then go to the head office and administration randomly draws one name from each grade.
      “Basically student of the month is someone who portrays all of the good characteristics here at school,” said Assistant Principal Rodney Helton. “They are following the rules, being leaders, just being great students in the class and finishing work.
     “It is just a congratulations and hopefully the other kids will want to be student of the month too and start following in their footsteps.”
