Two Knox County men have been arrested in connection with a weekend burglary at a rental cabin resort office in Sevier County.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said that at approximately 12:05 a.m. Saturday officers received a call to a disturbance in the Hidden Springs Resort at a rental cabin. Officers responded but were not able to locate any disturbance at the cabins.
As the officers were leaving the resort they spotted a white male lying underneath a truck in the parking lot of the resort office. Officers got out to investigate and the subject fled on foot.
An unmarked detective car spotted a vehicle coming into the resort that appeared to be suspicious and the vehicle was stopped. After being questioned he told officers he had let another subject out of the car in the resort and he was back to pick him up.
A short time later a subject, later identified as Andrew J. Morrow, was taken into custody and he told officers he had burglarized the office and took some money. Officers recovered an undisclosed amount of cash from Morrow at the time of arrest.
Officers found that the office had been burglarized and charged Andrew J. Morrow, 21, of 2476 Riddle Road, New Market and Bradley D. Lindsey, 22, of 3306 Dockery Drive, Mascot of burglary.
Morrow was also charged with evading arrest. Morrow is in Sevier Co. Jail under a $25,000.00 bond and Lindsey is out on bond. A March hearing date is set for both in General Sessions Court.
