The deadline to turn in candidate applications for the Sevier County 2010 election was last Thursday.
Running in the Republican Primary for Sevier County Mayor are incumbent Larry Waters and challenger Howard Reagan Jr., Bradley Lowe is running for mayor as an Independent.
Incumbent Sevier County Sheriff Ronald Seals is seeking reelection in the Republican Primary. Kimberly Pierce is running for sheriff in the Democratic Primary and Jerry Grubb is running as an Independent.
Joseph Karl and Gregory Haggard will challenge 6th District County Commissioner William Oakes for Seat A in the Republican Primary.
Incumbent 6th District County Commissioner John Pitner will face challengers Christopher Clepper and Dennis Gray for Seat B in the Republican Primary.
Edward Lutrell will challenge incumbent David Norton for Seat A of the 9th District Commission seat in the Republican Primary and Gerra Mary will challenge incumbent Judith Godfrey for Seat B in the 9th District in the Republican Primary.
County Commissioner Bryan Delius is seeking reelection for Seat A of the 10th District in the Republican Primary and Kevin Whaley is running for the same seat in the Democratic Primary.
Incumbent Jimmy Keener and challenger James Dykes are running for County Commissioner Seat B in the 10th District in the Republican Primary and Steven Brenner and David Armond are running for the seat as Independents.
This list of candidates is not yet official. The official list will be approved Feb. 25.
