The Sevierville Department of Parks and Recreation has scheduled the removal of a tree from Forks of the River Cemetery Park on Feb. 24.
The large Hackberry tree has become diseased and needs to be removed, as it presents a hazard should any of its limbs fall.
To facilitate the tree removal, the right and center northbound travel lanes on Highway 448, beginning at Main Street and extending onto the bridge over the Little Pigeon River, will be closed from approximately 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The left northbound lane will remain open.
Northbound traffic on the Parkway will be routed into the left northbound lane approaching Main Street. Motorists should expect delays during this period on the Parkway and Highway 448 northbound and consider alternate routes.
