NBC's “Biggest Loser” contestant, Tara Costa is the featured guest for the sixth-annual Healthy Living Expo Friday, Jan. 29, and Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at the Knoxville Convention Center. Costa is here with trainer, 5X Triathlon Champion Heather Gollnick, to promote Rev 3, Knoxville's first Triathlon, May 8, 2010. Friday is Senior Day when senior citizens attend FREE. The Employer Edge program, sponsored by CIGNA, provides FREE tickets to tens of thousands of area employees through over 100 employers. Tickets are honored either day of the Expo. General admission is $6.
The Expo offers potentially life-saving services including screenings for blood pressure, oral cancer, bone density and FREE H1N1 flu shots.Mammograms are available at a discount. Call the Knoxville Comprehensive Breast Center for an appointment. There's a lighter side at the Expo, including scheduled walks around the Healthy Living Track, cooking and exercise demonstrations, food and beverage sampling, live music, wii fitness games, remote control cars and even BINGO. The Expo even has a green side. Bring expired medicines, mercury thermometers, and batteries for recycling for FREE admission.
