Community radio station, WDVX, will host its 3rd annual Hillbilly Ball gala on Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Knoxville Museum of Art.  Host for the evening will be Bill Landry, and live entertainment will be provided by local bluegrass/Americana bands, The Bearded, featuring Matt Morelock and Kyle Campbell, and The Naughty Knots, featuring Sarah Pirkle.  A silent auction will carry such items as handwritten song lyrics by some of the best local, national and international artists including R.B. Morris, Christabel, Larry Cordel, and Del McCoury.  Also included in the silent auction will be framed artwork; pottery; handmade jewelry; Smoky Mountain vacation packages; downtown Knoxville packages including an overnight stay at Hotel St. Oliver; pet care; and a host of other interesting and desirable items.  Dinner is being provided by Sweet P’s followed by desserts from MagPie’s.  
Tickets are $75 per person and advance purchase is recommended by calling WDVX at 544-1029, or online at www.wdvx.com.  Tickets will also be available at door.  Cash bar and auction viewing opens at 6:00 p.m.  Dinner served at 7:00, and the music begins at 7: 30.
