Local quilters are encouraged to enter up to four quilts in the Midwest Quilt Expo Quilt Contest.
The 10-category juried and judged contest is part of the sixth-annual Quilt Expo to be held Sept. 9 through 11 in Madison Wisconsin.
The contest awards first-, second- and third-place cash prizes in each category.
The first-place winner in each category receives $500, second-place $300 and third-place $200, plus a Best of Show winner is awarded $1,500.
From the entries, a special Viewers' Choice winner is selected by Quilt Expo attendees and receives $500.
Last year, Linda Roy of Knoxville received an award. Her award-winning quilt and all of the 2009 award-winning quilts may be viewed at wiquiltexpo.com.
The 2010 contest rules and entry form are available for download at wiquiltexpo.com on the Web. For more information, call 800-253-1158.
