The Sevier County Emergency Communications District released its financial statements for the 2009 fiscal year this week.
Operating revenues for the emergency communications district were $922,914 for fiscal year 2009, compared to fiscal year 2008 with $919,237 in revenues. This results as an increase of $3,677 during the current year.
The fiscal year ended June 30, 2009.
In 2009 net income produced an increase in net assets of $257,607 and $472,291 in 2008. A net asset is the difference between assets and liabilities.
At the close of the fiscal year 2009, the district has net assets of $2,311,314, an increase of roughly 12.5 percent over the prior year, and at the close of the fiscal year 2008 the district had net assets of $2,053,707, an increase of roughly 29.9 percent of the prior year.
Before June 30, 2009 the Sevier County Emergency Communication District’s board of directors approved the purchase of four radios and antennas.
This equipment was bought to allow the Sevierville Police Department, the Pigeon Forge Police Department, the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department and the Gatlinburg Police Department to function as a back-up system in the event that Sevier County Dispatch ever had to be evacuated.
Net cash provided by operating activities during the 2009 fiscal year was $281,212, a decrease of $76,053 from the prior year’s amount.
