Here in Seymour how many of us have already broken our New Year resolution? You know that you made one or some, even if you told no one or wrote it down. Mine is to lose about fifty pounds, that’s about a pound a week. That doesn’t seem so formidable does it? My confession is that I have tried this before and never even got close. I really need to get it done this time. In addition I am shooting for a four inch waist loss in the first six months. Right now I am getting some help and encouragement from the good people at Blount Memorial Hospital Cardiac Rehab Unit.
Well, maybe old man winter might not be as old as expected. He seems to be quite frisky, he sure has jumped around a lot, bringing us many phases of the season in a short time. I wouldn’t have any projections of future weather. I really need to get ought and walk more than just a little bit. As cold as it has been it just brings on an asthma attack.
The TV just said we are going to start warming up in the next few days, I’m ready.
Some good news which should help the job market, Tennessee will be among the greenest states. Somebody has finally started listening about alternative sources of energy. Here we will be manufacturing the equipment needed for the production of that energy. This will bring into play bio fuels, wind and solar sources.
Who killed the electric, that is the last time? Before the gasoline car came the electric car, not much doubt that big petroleum companies wielded the death knoll to the electric cars. More recently, the nineties, California legislated the production of an electric car. That wasn’t very well accepted. General Motors did in fact produce a great electric vehicle. However they spent more money and effort proving the car wasn’t wanted, didn’t work and wasn’t reliable. The truth was that except for it’s short trip, 130 miles per charge it was a well accepted vehicle. General Motors had access to a much better battery which they refused to use. Also GM wouldn’t sell the cars. The truth was that GM could sell every car they produced. Oh and isn’t GM one of the big companies which got a recent ‘BAILOUT’. Oh Well!
That is just like building a twenty eight mile fence on the border with Mexico in three years, three years was all it was supposed to take to build a thousand miles of fence to protect us. And, oh by the way. the builders of the fence, Boeing Aircraft Company has the contract. Most of the bells and whistles of the fence don’t work and I understand Boeing didn’t consult with the Border Patrol on what was needed. Hey, just throw more money at it.
Well brothers and sister, keep the faith, obey God and prey for mankind.
