A reward is being offered to anyone who provides information that results in the arrest of who is responsible for a woman’s death in Sevier County.
James B. Dunn, District Attorney General of the Fourth Judicial District, announced that Gov. Phil Bredsen has authorized a $10,000 reward to anyone who provides information leading to the apprehension, arrest and conviction of any person responsible for the death of Dawn Shannon Hercutt.
Hercutt, a 40-year-old Sevier County business woman, was found dead in her 2007 Cadillac Escalade at the bottom of a cliff along Walker Trail on Aug. 3.
While authorities originally deemed her death as a traffic fatality, they later concluded that she had been killed and the crash was an attempt to mask the killing.
“I sincerely hope and believe that this reward will assist us greatly in the apprehension of the person responsible for the murder of Dawn Shannon Hercutt,” Dunn said.
He requests that anyone who has information about this crime should contact Detective Matthew Cubberley of the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department at (865) 453-4668, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at (865) 549-7800, or the District Attorney General’s Office at (865) 429-7021.
