    Sevier County Sheriff Ronald Seals warns residents that crime increases during the holidays every year.
    Seals gave some advice to those residents that will be traveling during the holidays.
    “People need to leave their lights on, ask their neighbors to watch their homes, keep very mindful and hide belongings in a secure place,” Seals said.
    While Seals said crime hasn’t risen yet, he is sure that it will as the holidays near because “it always does.”
    He added that while he couldn’t be sure if the economy has had an effect on crime levels, he could be sure in saying that residents can expect an increase in crime rates over the next month due to the holidays.
