Maryville College is hosting its annual Financial Aid Night at 6:30 p.m., Thurs., Dec. 10 in Fayerweather Hall’s Lawson Auditorium.
The event is free and open to the public.
Although presented by Maryville College financial aid staff, this is a general information session to help prospective students and parents, regardless of the type of college they are considering. Terminologies, student eligibility, timelines and information on grants and loans will be explained.
From institutional aid to state and federal aid programs, this financial aid primer will help decipher the terms, raise the issues, review best approaches and answer financial aid questions. The Tennessee HOPE Lottery Program will also be covered in depth.
“Attending Financial Aid Night will provide a family with the basic knowledge to steer them through the seemingly difficult financial aid process. Knowing the terms, deadlines and the types of aid can help assure that your child is receiving the most financial aid that is available,” said Ric Brand, director of financial aid at the College.
