Just as promised, Seymour Kroger store manager Aaron Owsley did in fact dye his hair pink on Friday.
During a ceremony at Kroger on Friday, Owsley revealed his newly dyed hair to Kroger associates and customers.
His promise to dye his hair pink stemmed from the store’s goal of raising $2,500 for Susan B. Komen for the Cure in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
The store’s goal was $1,500 higher than requested by the corporation and Owsley promised to dye his hair pink if they reached that goal as added incentive to his associates.
Money was raised by selling ribbons, icons and gift bags and employees paying $2 to wear pink shirts to work during October.
“It went real well,” Owsley said. “We went up to the salon and then they dyed it and they put it in a tall thin Mohawk, then we presented some awards to the people that raised the most money.”
When asked how he liked his new hair style Owsley said, “It’s not too bad,” adding that it was for a good cause.
