On Nov. 5th, the Seymour Eagles 10&U (Gold) AFC team capped off a fantastic year with an AFC Championship game win against the Karns Beavers at John Tarlton Park in Knoxville, TN.  After winning the NFC championship one year earlier, the Seymour Eagles competed in the one of the most competitive leagues in East Tennessee.  It was a game to remember and boys knew they had give a 100% effort in the win.  The stands were filled with on-lookers as the end of the game drew near.
The Seymour Cheerleaders had cheered all they could to help the Eagles "finish the race" to another championship (see photo).  Both the football team and the cheerleaders "BELIEVED" it was possible all season long.  Team members received Minor Pee Wee championship trophies that evening and celebrated with parents and friends.  What a night!!!!  And again, the head coach, Martin Burgess, was drinched with ice cold water.
Note – not many teams in America can say they won championships back to back in 2 different leagues!!!

After the Seymour Eagles ended the regular season undefeated with wins against Karns, Halls, Central, Pilot, CBFO, Hardin Valley, and Holston, as well as several bowl victories, the Eagles entered the playoffs in sole possession of the first place and a regular season championship.
To win the 10&U AFC playoff championship, the Eagles had to face both Holston and Karns in the playoffs.   Seymour beat the Holston Titans 26-0 and the Karns Beavers 14-0.  The Seymour defense only allowed 6 touchdowns in 10 season games and outscored their opponents 203 to 40.
Congratulations to the 10&U AFC Seymour Eagles TEAM!!  In recognition for their efforts, each player will receive another championship jacket patch signifying their accomplishment.  Way to go Eagles!!!
Special thanks goes out the Assistant Coaches: Defensive Coordinator Mike France, Line coaches Richard Collins and Burt Dishman, Team Pastor and OL coach David Jeffers, Special teams coach Brad Russell, and Offensive Coordinator, Mark Vance.
