The STATE OF TENNESSEE VS PAUL LINTNER trial was held Tuesday, October 13th. In a written release from James R. Dunn, District Attorney General of the Fourth Judicial District Dunn stated the following;
Today, October 13th 2009, the Defendant, Paul Lintner pled guilty to one count of the Class E felony, Sexual Contact with an Inmate. The other counts were dismissed. The penalty for this crime is from one to two years as a Range I Offender. He could receive anything from probation to incarceration for this offense. A sentencing hearing will be held, at which time Judge Richard Vance will sentence the defendant after hearing from both sides. The victim was consulted regarding this plea and fully supported our actions in this case.
Dunn stated, "We shall seek incarceration for Mr. Lintner at his sentencing hearing. I wish to thank Agent Brian Fraley, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation; David Hutchison and Tracy Ivy, Criminal Investigators with my office; and Agent K.T. Harper, Federal Bureau of Investigation, for their help in investigating this case, Sheriff Ron Seals and his office were cooperative in every way with this investigation. I also wish to thank my Chief Assistant Steven R. Hawkins, who coordinated the witnesses, researched the law, and who was fully prepared to represent the State of Tennessee in a trial on Thursday if that had been necessary.
It is essential that those who serve in any Law enforcement capacity, whether as sheriff, deputy, or as kitchen supervisor, who have inmates as trustees under his command, treat citizens and inmates professionally.
This office will prosecute any individual who abuses his power as Mr. Lintner did."
