The Magic Beyond Belief Theater on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge is celebrating Halloween with a “Tribute to Houdini” scheduled during their shows Oct. 10 – Oct. 31. The show stars International Star of Magic, Terry Evanswood, who will tackle and conquer escapes that made the great Houdini sweat. He will perform Houdini's metamorphosis trick, a Houdini inspired buzz saw escape and Houdini's straitjacket escape. Evanswood will demonstrate his ability to free himself from all of these formidable restraints in his recreation of these famous Houdini tricks. He will also tell Houdini's life story and perform many other magical illusions and ancient mysteries. The Halloween show will include a skeleton dance, dancing ghosts and lots of new tricks.
“Houdini's effects were so hazardous and nerve-racking that very few magicians, even if they are familiar with Houdini's tricks, have the courage, physical ability, or temperament to attempt to duplicate them,” said David Fee, co-owner of Magic Beyond Belief. “Terry Evanwood's recreation of Houdini's sensational escape tricks is remarkable. Millions of people remember Houdini as the man who 'could get out of anything,' and the public is still fascinated with this aspect of magic. Like Houdini, Terry Evanswood has a thorough knowledge of every form of escape and he has the personality and the showmanship to perform effective escapes that completely mystify his audience time after time.”
Ticket prices for the “Magic Beyond Belief” Show are $29.95, plus tax for adults; and one child is free per paying adult. Show times are 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. every day of the week. Call (865) 428-5600 for reservations. www.PigeonForgeMagic.com+++
