
According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals, a Campbell Co. Tn. Couple have been arrested in connection with the burglary of a wedding chapel in Sevier County.
Seals states that on Wednesday Oct 7th 2009 the couple came went to the Black Bear Cub Resort Wedding Chapel and were they were married. The couple also rented a cabin from the Black Bear resort which is near the wedding chapel.
At approximately 1:00 AM on Oct 8th an employee of the resort saw the couple’s car in the parking lot of the chapel and after the car left the employee went to the chapel and discovered the wedding chapel office had been burglarized and the lockbox containing cash had been taken.
The Sevier Co Sheriff’s Office was notified and responded to the scene and a B.O.L.O was put out to area agencies and a short time later the car was spotted at a restaurant parking lot in Pigeon Forge.
Officers went to the location where the couple was taken into custody after making incriminating statements to the investigator. Officers were able to locate the lockbox in a garbage can at a convenience store and also an undisclosed amount of cash was confiscated from the pair that had been taken from the wedding chapel according to the release.
The pair was transported to Sevier Co. Sheriffs Office where they were charged with burglary. The couple is identified as Brian T. Dykes age 21 of 486 Coolidge Rd. Lafollette, Tn. and Mindy K. McGhee age 24 of 250 Hatmaker Ridge Rd. Jacksboro, Tn. Both are being held under a $10,000.00 bond and an Oct 28th hearing date has been set in Sevier Co. General Sessions Court.
