It was a fun day at Holston Middle School as the school had a special guest on Monday, September 28. Richard Lambert, Special Agent in Charge of the Knoxville Division of The Federal Bureau of Investigation stopped by to deliver a special letter.
That letter, from FBI Director Robert Mueller, was delivered to student Parker Norton. In July, Norton won Jeopardy! Kids Week. In all, Parker cleared $22,000 on the show.
Parker received the letter from Mueller because in 2008, he graduated from the FBI's Junior Special Agent Program and was awarded the Junior Special Agent status.
The program is part of the FBI's Adopt-a-School initiative which provides opportunities for students to interact with FBI Special agents and professional support staff. It also teaches students how to improve academically and be good citizens. It can be offered in elementary, middle or high schools and vary from one-on-one mentoring opportunities or go to 16-week structured programs.
