
According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals a raid on a Seymour residence on Thursday Sept. 17th has led to the confiscation and recovery of numerous stolen items and also a large amount of drugs and the subsequent arrest of the homeowner.
Seals stated that a search warrant was obtained and served by members of the Sevier Co. Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation and Street Crimes Divisions and Blount and Anderson County Detectives at a home located on 1439 S. Delozier Road belonging to Curtis L. Ogle after an ongoing investigation into drugs activity and stolen property being sold at the home.
Pursuant to the warrant Detectives found and confiscated 13 utility trailers, 28 firearms, a large amount of asst. jewelry, power and industrial tools, lawn and garden equipment along with 56 grams of rock (crack) cocaine, 238 Hydrocodone tablets, asst Oxycontin and other scheduled narcotics.
Detectives also confiscated $7400.00 in cash.
Detectives state that a lot of the items had the serial numbers removed or defaced and are believed to have come from theft and burglaries in several counties and also from other states.
Detectives verified several items by serial number that had been reported stolen and entered into the National Crime Information Computer. The occupant and owner of the residence Curtis L. Ogle age 43 has been charged with 14 counts of felony theft, 1 count of possession of items with altered or removed serial numbers, 1 ct of possession of schedule II narcotic, 1 count of Possession of Schedule II narcotic for resale and 1ct of schedule III narcotic for resale.
Ogle was arrested on Tuesday Sept. 22nd and arraigned before a magistrate and a $50,000.00 bond was set. The investigation into the drug and stolen property ring is ongoing and more arrests may follow.
