John Lawson, a Seymour Community Christian School 5th grader, spent a week this summer at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, with the National Young Scholars Program. John was nominated by his teacher, Mrs. Linda Williams. The goal of the exceptional program is to recognize special students such as John, to encourage their ingenuity, to focus their natural abilities, and to especially build and strengthen their leadership skills. John chose the CSI2 Amazing Science of Detection as his main discovery strand. He also attended team building and leadership skills workshops daily.
