Dear Editor;
I just picked up a copy of your "Football Season" special supplement to the Seymour Herald. Although I thoroughly enjoyed reading it I wondered if you ever published a supplemental section on the younger players; such as Sevier County area school teams of the elementary school group i.e. Grasscutters, Super Grasscutters, Pee Wee, etc..
It's important to recognize our high school atheletes and I commend you for your effort, but I'm sure a great number of these young people started out somewhere under the guideance and love of a coaches who donated so much of their spare time after work and on weekends to nurture, guide and lead them to the high school level.
Yes, you guessed it. My grandson plays for the Northview Cougars (Grasscutters). But, I am writing to you because after reading your section and reviewing your layout I actually could sense how all the players identified felt about having their name and pictures in print. How important they must see themselves as. To be emotionally affected by this news coverage is a wonderful kind of team lift that I would like to see conveyed to our younger atheletes.
Perhaps your expos'e could be entitled "Football Season Beginnings".
Thank you,
Jody Hakala
