Medic has a need for all blood types at this time. Donors can donate at any of our seven daily mobile sites or one of our two fixed sites:  1601 Ailor Avenue near downtown, Knoxville and 11000 Kingston Pike in Farragut near Pittsburg Paints. Medic Regional Blood Center is the sole provider of blood and blood products for 28 area hospitals in 21 counties. Blood drives in your area:
· September 9, Big K-Mart – Sevierville, 217 Forks of The River Parkway, Sevierville, 10am-6pm, Bloodmobile
· September 10, Ripley’s Aquarium of The Smokies, 88 River Road, Gatlinburg, 10am-6pm, Bloodmobile
· September 11, Ft. Sanders Sevier Medical Center, 709 Middlecreek Road, Sevierville, 10am-6pm, Bloodmobile
All donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or more and have positive identification. Donors will receive a year's membership towards Medic's Family Blood Coverage Program which exempts donors and their IRS dependents from paying blood collection and processing fees at any U.S. hospital if a transfusion is needed. Donors will also receive a free t-shirt and a cholesterol evaluation (no fasting required).
