You know it’s going to be a good day when, in a single stop, you can try Belly Dancing, repair a toilet, take care of all those nagging financial obligations (like setting up a living will, a serious budget and a plan of attack to improve your credit score), check your cholesterol and tend to your physical and spiritual health without spending a dime.
All About Women, a new, interactive, day-long experience is coming to Knoxville on Saturday, August, 29, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Knoxville Convention and Exhibition Center located at World's Fair Park.  Admission is free, thanks to the support of sponsors including Mercy Health Partners, Home Depot, Comcast, WATE, WIVK, SRW & Associates, and Divabetic.
On August 29, women from every walk of life are encouraged to break free from their everyday obligations, grab their mothers, daughters, sisters and friends, and take advantage of the more than 100 different free services and activities geared especially for them.
“All About Women is not just an event, it’s an interactive experience that makes it easy for you to focus on the things you've been meaning to: stress, kids, job, home, finances, and most of all, your health and happiness,” said Sally Smallwood, founder of All About Women. “It’s a one-stop shop for women, who, let’s face it, are so busy taking care of everyone else that they backburner their own health needs.”
Organizers are prepared for 10,000 participants.  Kicking off the Main Stage day at 10:00 a.m. with a get-your-blood-pumping show is Divabetic.  Divabetic is a pop music-style diabetes education stage show, featuring fun “Boa-licious” and “Chair Cha Cha” workouts, healthy lifestyle tips, interactive games, diabetes education and prize giveaways.  Also featured will be the Cancer Queens, a cancer prevention musical revue.
All About Health  presented by Mercy Health Partners
All four sections will feature health screenings, but the All About Health section will host Mercy Health Partners and its Wellnesse for Women program with free cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI, bone density, sleep assessment, eye screening and more.  Also included will be the art of the self-exam, medical consultations, skin and carpal tunnel analysis, pressure point exams, spinal assessments, hand facials, foot therapy, zero gravity massage and pain relief.
“Mercy is committed to improving the health of our community and that begins with improving women's health," said Jerry Askew, Mercy senior vice president for external affairs.  “At All About Women, Mercy will be providing free screenings for women's diseases and providing information on Mercy Wellnesse for Women, a new service that helps women to understand their medical needs and schedule appointments when necessary.”
The Up There, Down There stage will allow women to ask the experts about everything “up there” and “down there,” such as Raging Hormones, Matters of the Heart, Bedroom Basics (sleep and sex), Aging Beautifully, Keeping Kids Safe, and “I’d like to buy a B” (bowel and bladder).
All About Home
With guidance from The Home Depot experts, ladies will get to lay tile, caulk, patch and paint, repair a toilet, install a faucet, gain basic knowledge of tools and the skills necessary to use them safely, and learn how to switch 2-prong outlets to 3-prong outlets and install window security.
In Mama’s World, sponsored by Babies R Us, parents can discover whether they’re smarter than the average parent when it comes to child development, discipline strategies and family interaction.  This section will also feature child safety tips, nutrition education, relationship awareness to tips on proper condom use.  The Men’s Health Network will be on hand to help explain, well, men.
