According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals the death of a Sevier County woman is being investigated as a homicide. Seals states that that on Monday night August 3rd 2009 Dawn Shannon Hercutt, age 40 of 1506 E. Milford Haven Dr. Sevierville was found deceased inside her 2007 Cadillac Escalade which was found down an embankment off Walker Trail in the Fox Run Resort area of Sevier County. The accident was initially investigated by the Tenn. Highway Patrol as a traffic accident. On Thursday August 6th the investigation was turned over to Sheriffs Dept. Criminal Investigation Division at the request of District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn after new information came to the attention of authorities. The homicide is currently being investigated by the Sheriffs Dept. C.I.D. and the Tenn. Bureau of Investigation.
