Leads close at hand

Several Seymour Herald newspaper boxes have been stolen over the last two weeks from various South Knoxville and Seymour locations. "With the amount of boxes stolen this is not a small crime and we plan to prosecute to the fullest extend of the law," stated Seymour Herald publisher Joe Karl. To date, eight boxes have been stolen at a cost of around $450 each.

The Seymour Herald and local authorities are asking for the publics help in catching the person or persons involved. "We have altered some of our boxes so we will know when they are taken and we are sure that we will catch who is responsible," stated Karl.  "The boxes are emptied of money nightly so there certainly aren't enough quarters in there to justify a theft."

The newspaper received a call this past week with information as to who may be responsible but the person giving the details asked not to be identified.  "We feel sure that we will catch who is involved in these thefts shortly," stated Karl.
