According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals 3 subjects have been arrested for burglarizing rental cabins in Sevier County.
Using state-of-the-art equipment, thefts are taking a major risk by stealing anything of value, because items can no be followed nearly anywhere in the area.
Seals states on Thursday 7/16/2009 a rental cabin in the Pittman Center area was burglarized. Items taken were a flat screen TV with a GPS unit concealed inside it.
Authorities started tracking the TV and it was tracked to locations in Sevier & Knox Counties.
The TV was eventually tracked to a location in South Knoxville where the trio was taken into custody and the stolen TV and several other items stolen from the cabin were recovered.
Arrested and charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Burglary was Anthony J. Witt age 25 of 429 Ave. B Knoxville and Marcus D. Bowling age 24, of 643 Dunn Hollow Rd. Townsend. In addition there was a 17 year old female juvenile from Dunn Hollow Rd. also of Townsend.
Both males were booked into Sevier Co. Jail and were arraigned before a magistrate with a $10,000.00 bond.
The female juvenile was placed into Sevier Co. Juvenile Detention Center.
The investigation is continuing and more charges are pending on the trio.
