CAN WE BEAR ARMS IN SEYMOUR?

Yes we can, Can we carry concealed weapons? Yes we can carry a concealed weapon if we have a Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit or a permit with another state which has an agreement with Tennessee.
A big issue all over the state is the change in the law which permits guns in bars except where the bar owner opts out and puts patrons on notice.
That permission provides that the armed patron cannot consume alcoholic beverages.
New changes also provides for the permitted carriers to carry in public parks and public camp grounds.
Now cities and counties can opt out of allowing otherwise permitted carriers to carry in certain parks and public notices must be posted.
Who doe this affect?
Mainly honest law abiding citizens are affected.
Do you think that passing laws which affect the law abiding will reduce crime, assaults, rape or murder?
Generally criminals don’t abide by the law. That’s why they are called criminals. Some of them chose to go by the laws when it’s in their best interest when pursuing some other criminal enterprise.
These prohibitions are there to protect the public.
Just as ’Order of Protection’ notices are there to protect a potential victim. Many domestic violence victims are more seriously attacked shortly after the order is issued.
Generally people do what they want to do.
Right now I would hazard a guess that in most any bar you could find several gun carriers, among those whom are carrying will be people with criminal records which would prohibit them according to the law.
Also I doubt that carry permit holders would be there carrying, why? They are law abiding citizens.
Orders of protection really serve no purpose just the same as bank robbery laws don’t stop the bank robbers. Drug dealers and users aren’t much affected by the most expensive law enforcement efforts in history.
Because an eleven year old child had been a runaway about a year ago should it be assumed that he or she was a runaway again?
Should law enforcement agencies wait more than twenty four hours to broadcast an amber alert?
It would be if he or she were found dead and abused in a ditch or field or anywhere for that matter.
Could that be excused because they thought it was a runaway on their hands?
Equal protection under the law for all children, illegal aliens and even criminals have that protection.
Under Tennessee law it does not provide that a child has a right to run away. A runaway should be found and the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services brought in.
Just remember if you can’t laugh at yourself you don’t have the right to laugh at anyone else. I’ll bet that God has a sense of humor and that he sometimes laughs at himself and us too. However we need to love and respect Him, keep Him in your heart and mind.
