Authorities have charged a Greeneville man with robbing a coin shop nearly a year ago.

The incident happened at The Coin Shop on Winfield Dunn parkway on June 20, 2008. According to Sevierville police, Jeffrey Ray Jennings, 28, ordered the storeowner to the floor at gunpoint and handcuffed him. According to authorities, Jennings allegedly then broke several display cases and removed old United States currency, valued at about $50,000. Police said he also struck the owner in the head with the pistol.
